To me its "Love You To". It seems to nothing to do with the song lyrics. And

Would you prefer "Granny Smith"? ;-)

it's an incomplete phrase. I'd "love you to" ,,,, to what? Or I guess it
could be complete in the sense:
Q: Would you like me to scratch your back?
A: "Love you to."
Maybe it's an implied response in that sense to the last 2 lines of the
song:
I'll make love to you,
If you want me to.
(Love you to)
Anyone know any reasons why George chose this for the title? One thing -
listening to the lyrics, it's hard to come up with a title. There's no clear
cut title that jumps out at you. Maybe "Make Love All Day Long".

Didn't you suspect or wonder if the title was really a typo somewhere
along the line - that George's intended title was actually "Love To
You," which is kind of a nice interesting partial-phrase right out of

Or maybe: "Love you, too"
Funny, as soon as I saw the title of this thread, this is the song I
thought of.

the song's lyrics, and that it got inadvertently mangled at some point
on the way to the album cover and so that became the official title?
That's what I always figured. Yes, some friends and I would joke that

That's what I always thought. Apparently George had a lot of trouble
coming up with titles to most of his songs.
|
(like you say) the title of the song is something like "LOVE you to!"

Sounds reasonable. I've thought of that explanation too - just forgot to
mention it in my post. Hard to belive there would be a typo in a song title,
but anything was possible in their hectic world. I could also picture George
telling John the title and John suggesting the switch of the words to make
it a little more interesting. Far fetched, but who knows. It would be
interesting to hear the actual details.

I always thought that it might have been someone's mistake, too.
Look at the title "You're Gonna Lose That Girl". Somewhere along the
line, someone changed it to "You're Going to Lose that Girl". I'm not
sure if this was intentional or not.
