Richard Fangnail...
Help is a terrible film, almost unwatchable. Did Richard Lester
comment on how it came out so bad? The editing in particular is poor.
Did they rush through it because of the Beatles' touring?

Riggo...
It looks poor now because it was made in 1965. In 1965 this
was what most movies were like.

And, to some extent, that's the problem. HArd Days Night seems a little
more timeless, and I think that's one of the key differences between
great movies and all the rest. My kids can get a real kick out of Hard
Days Night and Yellow Submarine. Help simply feels like one of those
silly mid-60s flicks.

Well, nobody here can just *grant* you the sense of appreciation of
film, sarcasm, performance art and general humor which are the essence
of "Help!"
You should stick with concert videos and films with many BIG special
effects and BIG boots.

"You should buy
a pair of boots.
A pair of nice
big big boots

Big, big , big, BIG, BbIIIIIIIIHG big boots!" - Wildman Fischer.

I love a Wildman referance. Wonder when that movie about him

I haven't seen HARD DAY'S NIGHT or HELP! in many years, but I enjoyed
them both a great deal when they came out and every time I saw them on
TV afterwards. I actually gave HELP a rave review in my junior high
school paper when it came out. Both movies were very well received at
the time.

I don't know how the humor in HELP holds up today, but I can't imagine
I would ever consider this film "unwatchable" or "bad."
