"It ain't me babe" Turtles version
Guitar out of tune in places.

Here's a Beatles duff note:
Let It Be, standard version, last verse. "I wake up to the sound of
music, mother mary comes to me". Right under the word "mother", a wrong
piano chord. But a good recovery by Paul.

It's not a wrong chord. Paul added something different to the chord
structure...that he felt was
geting tiring.

With all due respect, I disagree. He doesn't do anything like it any
any other LIB takes; It's a mistake I, as a musician have made a few
times; and his quick jump back to the right chord, halfway through the
measure all makes me think it was a negligible mistake. But you're

That doesn't mean anything..but you're wrong.
How about all of the variations of "I've got a feeling" and "two of us'
for starters? They aren't all exactly the same. Surely if you can make a
comment like this..you should have a good ear for music.

It wasn't a mistake, cause nobody can play a mistake that good. Paul
needed a variation right there, and he put one there. I'm a musician
myself, and I've been playing since 1961.

right that it was musical, and didn't disrupt the song.

No, it added to the song.

Secret rule for players: If you make a mistake, make it seem like you
MEANT to play it that way.
Algalene-Feathersworp...

Oh, of course, I've been doing that for years!
Lizz Holmans...

A well-trained actor has iambic pentameter beaten into hir head so
much that falling into it feels natural. This skill is invaluable when
one dries during any Shakespeare play.

No, bad idea. Paul put the chord changes...right where he wanted them.
You can fake the bass..but you can't fake the guitar or piano, or it
sounds messy.

Easiest way to accomplish that: do it twice!

One of my long-standing guitar rules: if you hit something "off" either
play it two more times (better than just once more I think), or slide up
or down the neck until you get it right. This way you don't sound
horrible, just avant-garde.

That only works if you are wearing a beret... in the Montmarte... 1913 I

...well Hello Dali...!

Well, then I must be more Parisian than I thought possible, since I use
this "rule" (and several others designed over the years to cover up for
my inadequacies as a player) almost every Saturday when my friends and I
get together to record. I will admit they work fairly well, although I
also don't downplay my technical friend's post-production skills at
hiding the worst gaffes. I will say I won't be playing Carnegie Hall any
time soon, unless they think ahead and "forget" to mike me.

...LOL... you wouldn't want to mic me either......... 8^0

You're exactly right, Abe.
