My favorite is the Beatle's tune "Live and Let Die."
It doesn't get much better than that one.

|
That was the Bay City Rollers.
|
It was also pretty cool when Motley Crue did that cover of it.
Dave Christian...
Scott Hendryx...
|
My favorite Beattle classic is "How can I get you off my mind, when I can't
get you off my face"!

George Harrison wrote compelling music -- "She Said" is
awesome! Check out Matthew Sweet's cover as well.

Clearly this is bate. Motley Crue never did a good cover of *anything.*
|
Bernie Woodham...
|
I've thought about this awhile and I think the best classic rock song of all
time is "The Beautiful People" by MM.
Will Vaughan...
|
"You Light Up My Life" by Juice Newton. I was #1 for like a year or
something.
Bernie Woodham...
|
How about "Sugar, sugar" by the Archies? That was a real smash. Poppermost
of the Toppermost!
|
David Loewe, Jr....
|
My...
THAT'S stinky.

Pat Boone's gonna kick his ass.

I gotta go with "sweet child of mine" by G&R.....that song comes on and
it's impossible to not listen to.

It's like that for me too, if you just remove the word "not."

There are a few classic tracks that we always stop whatever* we're
doing for:
Come Up And See Me, Make Me Smile - Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel
featuring the best acoustic guitar solo on the planet
Born To Run or Thunder Road by the Boss
Allright Now - Free
the vast majority of Bealtes tracks
and more than likely
Street Fighting Man or Jumping Jack Flash by the Stones
*I know what you're thinking but stop it !

The first one that came to mind is Stairway to Heaven.

Must not be a big Beatles fan, else you'd know that
that tune *is not* a Beatles song. Paul McCartney, yes,
but not The Beatles.
Jim Weeks...
|
Like there is a difference... sheesh - he had all the talent in that band
anyway. It could have been Paul McCartney and three homeless street people
backing him up and he still would have been a millionaire. Thos other three
though... I hope they were grateful for their free ride.
Jack Thompson...
|
This works sarcastically if you replace Paul with Ringo. Otherwise, not
so much.
|
Sarcastically? Dude... what is pathetic is that without Paul at its center,
the Beatles were like a solar system without a sun - no gravity to keep
them in orbit. I maintain that Paul would have made great music (possibly
better, though we'll never know) and would have remained an icon without
the Beatles. And I don't believe the other guys in the band could have
reached fame without Paul, though that's no slight on them. It simply
speaks to Paul's artistry and charisma.

Is it legal to pile bait on top of bait like that?

Mercellus Bohren...

|
Hadn't know the boys did that one? ; )
|
trippy...
|
In no particular order...
"Magic Man" -- Heart
"Skateaway" -- Dire Straits
"Renegade" -- Styx
"Hotel California" -- The Eagles (But I'm sick of hearing it)
"Love Hurts" -- Nazareth
Donn Miller...
|
But this was actually a cover. Roy Orbison and the Everly Brothers did
it before Nazareth. Also, I'd probably add School's Out and I'm
trippy...
|
Never heard it. Any good?
|
Eighteen in there.

|
Good songs but not 'best classic rock songs of all time'.
|
|
"Gimme Shelter" -- The Rolling Stones
"Under Pressure" -- Queen & David Bowie
"Blue Collar Man" -- Styx
"On The Edge Of Seventeen" -- Stevie Nicks
"The Pusher" -- Steppenwolf
"Hey Joe" -- Jimi Hendrix
"Voodoo Child" -- Jimi Hendrix

Will Vaughan...

No, damb it - they did "When Love Comes to Town" with Buddy Guy.
