This wasn't George's finest hour. The video was also kind of
embarrassing. You know a classic songwriter is in trouble if he has to

Slip Kid...
I don't recall the video.
I've seen more than a few nice tunes which I'd not mentions in the same
sentence.
As the video

You know that. I don't know that.

Jud McCranie...
There were two videos for the song. Don't you think it is great when
George does the back flip?

That wasn't George. It was a stunt man. George admited it.

Jud McCranie...
I thought that was obvious, but he said that he had people think it
was he.

Dale Houstman...
Some people just can't separate reality from illusion: after all, how
many people confuse TV actors with their characters? This always struck
me as a sad commentary on the mental capacity of way too many people.

Jud McCranie...
Yes, it is so obvious that it isn't George that it is surprising that
some people think it is.

Dale Houstman...
He didn't need to: it was obvious.

cover an oldie.

Slip Kid...
I did not know that.

Edwierd...
It was a hit and gave him his career back.

Some Other Guy...
So, the Beatles were in trouble when they played Words of Love, Dizzy Miss Lizzy, etc.

How bout Van Halen doing You Really Got Me? DIdnt hurt them a bt.
Motley Crue doing Smokin In The Boys Room and The Bangles doing Hazy Shade of Winter.

Covering an oldie has no relation to a songwriter being in trouble.

Dale Houstman...
In the specific case of CLOUD NINE, it is rathr clear that George is not
in trouble: it is full of nice songs. I was just listening to it today,
and it is a very enjoyable album.

But I liked the Traveling Wilburys.

Slip Kid...
...and what kind of trouble were they in?
