Ringo Plays Guitar??

I just re-listened to Paul Simon's The Rhythm of The Saints - On the
track Further to Fly there are 3 guitarists listed:
Rafael Rabello, Vincent Nguini and a Ringo Star (spelt with one R)

Shorely Shome mishtake???

Is it a joke I didn't get?? I've heard Ringo on guitar on Can't Fight
Lightning, and it doesn't sound like his "style" shall we say...

Such a percussion intense album could have used Ringo (the one with 2
R's that is).

Any ideas out there???

Uhhhhh.... could it be that it's a different person with the same name?

hmmmm - a bit of long shot I would have thought. R. Star, maybe, but
Ringo???? It's also listed on various Ringo Sites in his discographies
as a "session spot".

Yeah, "Ringo" and "Star", they're both pretty common names
afterall.
