Good Night

Good Night is a good song but John told George Martin to make the
strings sound "corny." The Anthology version is the great version.
John made a demo for Ringo but it has been lost.

Does anyone think John was trying to be funny when he said the song was

I think that John was self-conscious about writing something syrupy
sweet. In later years he would let on that all the bravado was just
self-defense. I bet he loved the song and the way it was arranged for
the LP.

That and the Engineer was Richard LUSH.

Good Night is rarely played on the radio etc. I suppose it doesn't
appeal to people as it is a lullaby to his kid.

"Good Night" is the highlight of the White Album. I'm glad it wasn't
radio material. I'd sure like to hear John's take, but Ringo was
perfect for it. Brilliant choice.
