Beatles-related people at the Cirque

Why were so many people so close to the Beatles at the Cirque premiere
thing? It's like an encyclopedia of people close to the Beatles. Were
they all paid (a huge amount) to appear there? It's just a circus show
using the Beatles' music, is that so enormous?

I think they wanted to be there because it was the biggest Beatles
event since Anthology. It is an historic event in terms of "The
Beatles" approving the use of their material to drive a Cirque
performance, using the Beatles' name to sell tickets, and having them
all involved in the creation of it, even using George Martin & Son to
produce the music!

It's somewhat "enormous" as you say, because of the work that went
into choosing and mixing the music in the way that they did, and it
will mark the first time a Beatles cd will be released in Surround
Sound.

Having seen it, yes, it is a pretty big deal. Any Beatles fan will
enjoy it. Though, if you're like me, you may find that the Cirque acts
sometimes only "get in the way" of the music. But other times they
certainly do embellish and complement it. So all in all a good time is
guaranteed for all.
