IFF is my favorite Fab cut, as mentioned in my Guide. I heard cut the
first time as the US single on AM radio with all the fake echo added. I
still prefer the stereo version I heard the first time on an import LP,
"A Collection of Beatles Oldies". I still have the LP.

My fav by far!!!! It took a few years but I got the original 45w/
sleeve. I'll never forget seeing 1964 as the Beatles in 1990. They
asked if anyone knew the flip side of "SHES A WOMAN" I was sitting in
the front row and answeared'I FEEL FINE" I was wearing my Metallica "
And justice for all " tour shirt. People around me were bursting out
laughing!

I loved that 45 also. Living in the U.S., my memory of those songs were
shaped by the Capital versions released originally on the "Beatles 65"
album. "She's a Woman" and "I Feel Fine" were included on that album
in the form of "duophonic fake stereo mixes". The Capital engineers
were only sent the mono mix tapes to work from, so they EQ'ed them into
false stereo, and then bathed them in deep echo. The results were
miles away from the clean sound of the original stereo masters (later
released in the U.S. on the "Past Masters 1" CD in 1988). Still,
that's the way I grew up with those songs, and as muddy echoed as they
were, they still sounded great!
