I heard on the radio that Butch Patrick, the guy who played Eddie
Munster on The Munsters, is writing a book and that Louise Harrison is
writing the forward for it. Butch Patrick said so.
I am curious as to why Louise Harrison is doing the forward. The only
connection I can see is that Butch said that all the Beatles were

And Butch was a Beatle fan.
Butch Patrick and Lou have been good friends for a very long time. I
believe he lives in Florida where Lou used to live.
When Lou was heading the We Care Global Family and then later the
Drop-In! organization, she had a small list of volunteers who'd help her
out with certain projects, and we all got each other's contact
information. Butch Patrick was on that list, along with my husband, and
another rmber who no longer posts here.
As a side note, about five years ago, we stayed at the Hard Day's Nite
bed and breakfast in Benton, IL, and signed the guest book. Butch
Patrick had signed it just before we did.

Donna,
I didn't know you belonged to We Care and Drop-In. I did also for
awhile . In fact, I had an article about used books in one of the
newsletters. What did you do as a volunteer?

I used to help her out behind her booth at the NY Metro Beatlefests. My
husband helped to design her website, and he also wrote music for the
animated environmental children's series that was being developed.

Do you also remember a Beatles-inspired 1980s environmental group, most
of whom were from the West coast, called "Apple's Kin". They were the
group responsible for The Beatles themed section of a Los Angeles city
park...the name escapes me at the moment. Mayor Tom Bradley of LA
dedicated it. From what I hear, it has fallen onto bad times over the
last few years.

Griffith Park in Los Angeles...just remembered it. The Apple's Kin
group was responsible for all the plants and trees planted in the
section of the park dedicated to The Beatles.
Eventually, the group dwindled, and from what I understand from a
former member(who emailed me a few months back) that section of the
park has run down.
Too bad.
