Nowhere...

As stated earlier, possibly the greatest song ever written. I have a lot of
demos of the song and various studio takes. Can anyone direct me to a list
of the order and number of takes.

The entire CD recording IT'S NOT TOO BAD is to put it simply...
breathtaking.
To be there at the beginning of the creation of this magnificent song is a
pleasure... every time I listen to it... which I do frequently. It was
fortuitous that John made these demos... because of John's example, I myself
never practice/rehearse my guitar playing without having the recorder on...
sometimes in the process of writing, a wonderful "accident" may occur... a
melody takes shape or a progression of chords that somehow has a "magic" to
it... you don't know when that perfect combination of sweat and inspiration
will produce "your song"........ ;^)
BUT...in my estimation, the supreme "goosebump" moment occurs on track #6
which is listed as the Santa Isabel demos #5 and #6. The demo # 6 begins at
0:30 track 6... he demos the verse lyrics, and then at 1:20 he begins the
chorus..."Let me take you down"... he sings this chorus, but it is the last
line of the chorus..."Strawberry Fields Forever"... that sends chills down
my spine... this line of the lyric starts at 1:41 and finishes at 1:49...
those 8 seconds are absolutely miraculous!!! He doesn't sing the line as in
the finished recording... he stretches out the falling melody... a beautiful
melody that I wish somehow had been incorporated into the final take...
though what we have today on record is perfection...! I think the entire CD
is valuable JUST for that 8 seconds alone.
Again... it is a brilliant testament to a song that will inspire me for the
rest of my life... a song that deserves it's place in musical history as the
towering achievement of John Lennon's life/Art.

The disc is called It's Not Too Bad: The Evolution of Strawberry Fields
Forever.
Funny, I was just listening to this yesterday. It's awesome.
I love the background vocals in Take 1 (similar to the harmonies in
Because) which oddly were left off Anthology 2.
Also, in one of the demos, Lennon strums the intro in a style similar to
the beginning of Yesterday.
If you write songs and/or dabble in recording, you will love this boot!
