John F. Eldredge...
This afternoon, as I was cleaning up some fallen branches in my front
yard, I glanced into my parked car and saw a sparrow flying about
inside the car. I had to open two doors before the sparrow finally
found its way out. I had used the car a couple of hours earlier, and
the bird must have flown inside as I was getting into or out of the
car. Surprisingly, I didn't see any white spots on the upholstery.
Then, when I went into the house, I heard muffled meows coming from
the hall closet, and found that Cinders had evidently darted into the
closet as I was getting my overcoat out, before going out to work in
the yard.

John F. Eldredge...
I spoke too soon. Tweety Bird left me one souvenir, right in the
center of the steering wheel. I still wonder how it got into the car
without my noticing it going by me.

Joy...
Better on the steering wheel than on the upholstery.

W-e-l-l-l.... if it's still fresh when your bare hand
discovers it..... ("Better" perhaps, in terms of removal,
but....)

John F. Eldredge...
I found the bird spot visually, not by getting it on me, it was on a
solid plastic surface rather than fabric, and it came off easily with
a damp paper towel.

When I graduated from eighth grade, and thus moved up from junior high
school to high school, the school held a graduation ceremony. Shortly
before the ceremony, several of us were sitting outside eating our
lunches. One of my friends was holding the lower part of his
newly-purchased necktie out flat on his palm so that he could admire
the pattern. Suddenly, a bird splat landed in the middle of the tie.
He was not happy, but managed to get the tie clean in time for the
graduation ceremony.

Better the tie than one of the lunches!
