B*st*rd cat trick

A little while ago I wondered where Baggy had got to, he was very quiet and
I couldn't see him anywhere. I got up and searched the house and still
didn't see him. I went back to the room I started in, and there he was,
sitting in my chair looking smug.

Phew.
Must be the day for it. I couldn't find Kitty Farmcat when I got home from
work. Called her, searched the house, upstairs and down, went to see if she
was sunbathing on the patio. No. Down the garden, looking all round the
chicken huts, in the orchard, calling her all the time. Nothing. This is
very ununusual now as she hardly goes out.
I walked back up the garden worrying. "If she's not home by 7 I'll have to
start looking in the undergrowth for her body.." You know how it is.

Got back up to the house, entered the conversatory to go in the back door,
happened to look up and there was KFC meatloafing on top of the freezer.
"Uh, what? I was here all the time!"

P.S. I got scared because she's so old, in case she'd decided to *go away
and die* or something.

Roxy and Licky both seem to enjoy this. I'll be looking all over the
house, calling for the cat in question, and finally, I'll spot whoever
it is, meatloafing on the fridge or curled up behind the guitar case,
enjoying the show and quietly snickering at me.

Smudge never does this because she is such a social kitty that she
would come if she heard me calling her like that. That is, unless she
decides to get lost for real! :-/
