Finally

I finally got some photos of Pandora (formerly Gracie) uploaded to the
photo albums. Beginning with shortly after we got her, to a couple
taken just today.

Take a gander at "My Stove Doesn't Work"... my favorite currently.

She does seem to have a penchant for places that usually aren't good
for kitties to get into!

Typical exchange in a cat's home. Husband, "why don't we get rid of the tea
kettle. We never use it and it sits on the stove all the time." Wife, "but
I use it to put on hot burners when I take a pan off the stove so the cat
won't burn his feet."

Thanks, I won't tell her, she'd be unbearable if she knew that I
thought she was a lovely as *she* thinks she is (and she does, and I
do).

I donn gets on za hot spase... meowmie dunn like wenn I doos dat. Paw
an' meowmie wuz doon dis fing dass callt der cleanin'... Dem holez,
dey wuz big enuff fer me... I'z onnie a wittel fluffy.

She's actually good about the stove, they all are. They like to lie on
the floor in front of it, when the oven is on, but don't hang around
when the "top" is in use. Silly kids.

She is like that *everywhere* in the house. She got "stuck" in the
cabinet/cupboard with the sucky monster, and I didn't know, took a
while to figure out what the noise was. The door doesn't latch or
anything, but she was so afraid of the vacuum, she couldn't even push
against the door, I just heard her wailing (poor baby).

I can't always get photos of her when she's being her
"let-me-see-what's-in-there" brat. Sometimes, I am just too worried
about how I'm gonna get her out without scaring her, that I don't have
time to realize how cute she is in where ever she is to take a pic.

She loves the dryer too, but I always check before I toss in clothes
(you know, I open it, when I'm going to put the laundry in, and she
jumps right up there).

Thank you kindly (and purrs and teeth pushes from Pandy for the
skritches)... Speaking of:

Do any of you have a cat that does "teeth pushing"? It's like she puts
her little jaws together, then pushes forward onto your hand or arm or
leg or where ever with her teeth. She can push hard enough that it
hurts, but she isn't biting or nuzzling... she's got her little lips
open and her teeth closed. I've never had a cat do that and it kind of
freaks me out sometimes. My vet hasn't heard of it either (Pandora has

Yes, I've felt a cat's teeth rub against my hand when they rub their
head, with teeth exposed (but mouth closed), along my hand. I don't
think it's that unusual...

Ditto. Cat Five does that to me a lot, she also does that to cardboard
boxes, balusters for the handrails, etc. Usually she's also purring when
she does this. From what I understand, cats also have scent marking glands
in their cheeks (corrections are welcome if I am misled) and she's marking
me as "hers" and she also gets some "pleasure" from the rubs. I think it's
cute :D

Oof, that'd be Marley (full set of claws) in my easy chair (so he
doesn't fall off - lol). He weighs 15.6 pounds, and he'll get up on my
shoulder. The weight is enough to make me hurt, but then he gives me
Marnoculations (Marley innoculations). Just the tips of the claws, in
his mucksing (sp?) - kneeding way. They don't hurt, but you know he's
there.

open-mouth nip (unless he's mad then it's a bite, but not hard enough to
break skin)

Leonidas does that one. Smeagol, on the other hand, looks at me with
his cross-eyed gaze (and the eyes never stop moving, tremor-like) and
squeaks.

Why is that big cats have such little squeaky meows instead of real cat
meows? All my big boys are the same (Smeagol is 18.4 pounds). Vet
says he and Marley could stand to lose a pound or two, but that they
are both going to stay "big boys".
