Mischief...
Hey folks,

I know it's been over a month in my last entry, but I'd thought i'd
take the time to make a few.

First let me tell you about the place I currently work at. First of
all it's TINY. Everything seems to be cramped and it's a one doctor
practice. There is a second doctor but she comes in only 2-3 times a
week. Recently we did get a third doctor.

The current owner and head doctor has been there for 8 years. I'm
surprised at the kind of things that have gotten done in such a small
clinic. Sub-par ventilation, crummy lighting, leaky plumbing, concrete
flooring. Our X-ray developing room is also the only bathroom in the
whole clinic.

Then two years ago he had enough and decided to make his own place. So
about a block up the street he broke ground to build his very own
clinic. Now it is almost finished. He's going nuts with inspectors
and contractors and everything. When I interviewed in March, the move
was set for May. I got hired in May and the move was now set for July.
It's now the end of July, and I'm hearing mid-August.

It's going to be very big and aswsome. We will be going from 4 dog
runs to about 12. We'll have an entire room dedicated to cats. A huge
surgery room with two tables and with a separate room for scrubbing and
a window for the owners to watch (if they want) We've got a huge
waiting room, and five exam rooms instead of 2. We'll have two dental
cleaning units so two dentals can be done at once. And even have our
own separate grooming center. It's going to be great. The ultimate
goal is to turn this tiny clinic that's only open 5 1/2 days to a 24/7
Full and Emergency Care clinic. We're well on our way.

That's why I joined on. This place has so much potential that I want
to be a part of it. It's worth the 15 mile commute through the
Sepulveda pass (It's a very crowded freeway from my place in the valley
to this place)

I certainly hope that I can be there to help it grow.

It does sound great, and by being there pre-move you will always be able to
say you were there when. You will always have seniority over all the new
staff they will need to get up to 24/7

If you will be there for a while, would you mover closer?

It sounds as though the new place will be wonderful, for the animals, their
people, and those who work in it!

BTW, it must be somewhere in the Los Angeles area. Can you be a little more
specific? If you're commuting through the Sepulveda pass from the valley,
it would be a bit far from me, but my daughter and son-in-law live in Playa
del Rey, along with their two cats. I don't know if they're looking for a
new vet or not, but if you can tell me where it is, I'll tell them about it.
You can email if you'd rather - my addy isn't munged.
