I'm a little late, since it was yesterday, but he and everyone else
did get their treats anyway! Trill was a stray, a little black guy, who had been showing up on my porch for six weeks. The neighborhood kids started worrying about him (and me, too, since it was almost Halloween), and picked him up and knocked on doors to see where he belonged -- which was nowhere. polonca12000...
I went out and found him in the alley, happy as could be. I sighed, said "Can't leave you out here, kiddo", and brought him into the apartment. Where he promptly turned into The Ferocious Cat from Hell. Okay -- so maybe this was not such a good idea. Being foolish at the time, nine years ago, and having no clue what to do, I said "Well, I guess I'll just have to put him outside again. I sure can't handle him!" So I let him out, and he jauntily ran off. It had been warm and sunny, but by Tuesday, it was very cold and raining. I looked up in the window as something caught my eye. At first, I thought it was Sabra's (RB) shadow. Until he opened his mouth and meowed. I imagine he meowed something like "Let me in! Let me in! I don't like it out here anymore!" I went out and brought him in, Trill making no effort and protest. After trying to find him a home and trying the Humane Society (who told me he'd be put down because he had *ear mites*!!!), I decided Trill had found his One True Forever Home, and my little strange mutant cat has been with me ever since. Will in New Haven...
