Thank you Julie, for the purrs and candles. I have been going back to that
site to keep reading the messages, and have lit one myself. I want to keep
that one burning.

was fine yesterday, this morning she ate breakfast but then she was falling
over when she tried to stand up or walk. An effect of the kidney by
products affecting her brain.

Thank you Fil. In my head I know it was right but my heart still misses her
so much.

We had a cuddle and said goodbye..
I've known this would happen for so long but it still hurts.
Thanks for all your purrs and thoughts

I'm so very sorry. She was such a brave old lady. Of course it hurts
when you lose a companion who has been with you for so long. Many
soothing purrs coming your way.

Purrs for your heart, and purrs for Sesame's journey to the bridge.
She had a good life with a loving family, and I'm sure she knew it.
Hopefully the hurt will give way to happy memories soon.
My sympathies for your loss and her passing-

I am so sorry, Kathryn. Of course it still hurts, no matter how long
you knew. She sounds like a wonderful cat. I know you'll miss her.

I miss her more than I can express. I'm sure so many people here can
understand that.

I will light a canle for Sesame. :-) Sorry I didn't send purrs earlier, I
saw the purr request at the same time as the RB post.
Kathryn...

Thanks Adrian. I posted the purr request when we were leaving to go to the
vet. Even though I didn't see any replies before I left it was comforting to
know that people would be reading it.

Kathryn, Sesame was fortunate to have you for her human. It always
hurts to lose them! But I don't think anyone on this board would forgo
feline companionship, even knowing that eventual sad farewells are an
inevitable part of the deal when we first take that adorable new cat
home with us. I hope Sesame had a gentle passage over the bridge.
She'll have fine company on the far side while she waits for you. Purrs
for your loneliness. And, as I say to everyone, a new cat friend is one
of the best sources of comfort for those mourning the passing of a long
time four-footed companion. Not right away, no. But soon.
Another friend of mine had to say farewell to her own frail and
elderly cat about a week ago. He had been having elevated thyroid
trouble, but what took Edgar in the end was also kidney failure. He
was nearly 18 years old, and always at the top of the feline pecking
order, as the grand patriarch of her household. In some ways, his
passing now resolved a difficult dilemma for my friend who is planning
to move back to the States in March after 20 years in Ireland. She
couldn't quite bear to leave Edgar behind after so many years of loving
companionship, but was very concerned about the stress of a
transatlantic journey on an elderly cat in failing health. I think that
Edgar, being the intelligent cat he was, realized some major change was
in the offing, even if he didn't understand all the details, and took
matters into his own paws, resolving both her dilemma and his own.
So Sesame will be in the presence of other beloved cats who have
recently made their final journey. It will be hard without her for a
while, but it will ease.

Thank you Melissa, and thoughts for Edgar and his family. I wish I could

Thank you Marina. She was a companion and a friend and just so much more. I
feel so lonely.
Thanks for your purrs.

Oh, {{{{Kathryn}}}}
I am so sorry to hear that. I've been there myself a few times with
kidney failure, and it is never easy. Healing purrs to you, and purrs
for Sesame's trip to The Bridge.
