[OT] I guess it is official

Richard and I had a counseling appointment last Friday. He wants a
divorce. And is being very ugly about it. I asked if we could try to
do this amicably, but he wasn't amenable to that. So I have had to

I'm sorry! :( That's ugly, and so unnecessary. Is he just an angry
person? If so, then maybe in the end, you'll be better off without
him - which might be hard to imagine right now. But that might be
something to keep in mind as you go through this process. I hope it's
not too hellish! It's just really rotten of him to make what is
undoubtedly a stressful experience so much worse. Litterbox offerings
to him!

So different from my first marriage. Victor and I did the dissolution
ourselves from a book, and went down to the Courthouse to file the
paperwork. We got lost, and someone there asked if we were looking
for the marriage license section. We laughed and said "No, we're
filing a dissolution". The person seemed very confused -- lol.

Wish you didn't have to go through all this. It is so hard on the spirit.

But there are advantages to knowing it really and truly is over. Hope if he
can't be amicable he can at least be sensible. And that you have a very
good attorney who will make this as easy for you as possible.

Wish this time was like that one.

I'm very sorry it has worked out like this for you, Ginger-lyn if it isn't
what you want too.
I had the bad fortune to be hitched up to a violent alcoholic and I hung on
for too long thinking I could put everything right.
Sometimes it isn't possible.
Being able to watch something *I* wanted on the TV and being able to hold
the remote control and click it myself was a really amazing experience.
You will be fine, I was. I wouldn't go back.

My ex-husband wasn't amicable either and he never gave me a reason why he
wanted a divorce. I was so disparaged, I couldn't get out of bed for 3
months. I know what you're going through.

But yes, get a divorce attorney and make Richard pay for it. Ha! Paybacks,
girlfriend.
