Yeah, it's pretty awful. Enough to make you nauseous.
But I remember a poster who was a wildlife rehabber who ended up with a
pigmy (midget?) skunk. For some reason it couldn't be returned to the
wild, and she had it de-scented and kept it in the house. It was just
the cutest thing you ever saw. It was much smaller than a cat. But very
cat-like.

While we're on the subject - the only known critter to actually *eat* a
skunk (besides humans, that is :D) are owls. Owls have no sense of smell,
therefore are undeterred by their reek! I believe that the Grat Horned Owl
actually prefers skunks to other food!

Why not? Owls are clever. They might have realized, that they have the
monopoly to that food source.
