Although he didn't eat anything last night and gagged when we offered
him a piece of ham, he did seem very happy to be home. He slept between
Dennis and me on the bed all night long and spent much of the time
purring.
We moved his litterbox into the living room from the laundry room so we
could keep a close eye on what was going on. At 5 am he got up and used
the litterbox but then came straight back to bed and cuddled up to us.
When I got up at 7:45, I gave him a small amount of canned food and
microwaved it a bit to make it smell good. He ate a little amount on
his own, I was so proud of him! Later on, he even nibbled on a piece or
2 of kibble.
I was at work all day but Dennis reported to sitting outside in the sun
reading the newspaper and Vino was basking in the sun, feeling good. He
ate a small amount more of canned food and a little piece of ham.
After I got home, he ate some more canned food. He also used the
litterbox again.
All in all, he probably ate half of one meal all day, but I bet his
stomach is very shrunk from not eating anything for so long. Also, he
kept it all down and didn't puke. So far so good!

Yes. If you haven't eaten for a few days, a very small amount is
plenty. He's doing great.

We're thinking that it might have actually been the anti-nausea
injections the vet was giving him that were making him feel sick. One
time we gave him a sedative for travelling reasons and he totally
freaked out and was most *un* sedated. Maybe he reacts differently to
some meds.
In any case, Dennis has gotten good at giving him his urine acid pill
and he's had 2 of those today with no ill effects. He also licked up
his food flavoured antibiotic paste. Whew :-)
He seems a bit needy, keeps sleeping on Dennis' lap. But it makes him
feel better and more relaxed and is allowing him to get some much needed
rest.
He looks a bit skinny, I think he's definitely lost some weight. I'm

I'm glad to hear Vino is on the mend!

not working tomorrow and only 3 hours on Friday afternoon, so I'm going
to make sure he eats lots. He likes to be petted while eating now. He
never used to, but hopefully some petting while eating will help him
over this hump.
Again, thanks everyone for your purrs and good wishes. I'm positive
they worked wonders.
