Gertie ferret is coming home tomorrow!

Well, it seems little Miss stray ferret is a girl of about 3 months old.
I went to the vets this evening to drop off some forms, and check on the
status of the stray ferret.

She was checked by the vet, she is in perfect health apart from being in
season, and she is apparently terribly affectionate and very excitable.
Everyone at the vets is delighted that she's coming to a home rather
than being PTS.

I'm speaking to the head nurse tomorrow who is a ferret specialist, to
just get an idea of what to expect, then I have to go shopping for a
cage, ferret supplies and some chicken, and then I pick her up...
*GULP*!

I'm so jealous!!!!

I've talked my next door neighbour Ann into looking after her whilst I
am away for 2 weeks and I'm actually pretty excited now I have some idea
what to expect.

I also expect to be asking lots of ferrety questions.... Tweed,
Nanny....

Funny, the girls are called "jills"... I don't think my mom had ferrets in
mind when she named me!

Reading your posts about a ferret you don't yet have, I'm still remembering
the time my mom came running in from the patio screaming ,"There's a wild
animal out there!" LOL It was a ferret... and along came a 7 or 8 year old
boy asking, "Have you seen my pet ferret?" It just wanted Mom to pet it and
maybe play with it a little; toss it a ball?

We teased mom no end after that. Oooh, a big bad ferret came up on the
patio! LOL

Maybe this site will help! John and I love to look at the ferrets in pet
shops when we travel... they sleep a lot, like cats, but they also play like
kittens! We watched some tumble about on our last trip and they had us in
stitches! You're going to have your hands full.
