Palm Cove Marina, Jacksonville Beach, Florida
Planning each day includes considering wind, tides and currents to time our
departure and arrival. Today, we had all three in our favor and we felt
like we were flying as we zipped along at almost 9 mph with the engine speed
that usually gets us about 6 to 7.

We pulled into the marina at high tide, shortly before noon.
A hot hike took us to a grocery store and we loaded up a backpack and our
little folding pull cart and returned to Genesis.
Of course, we had to stop and pick some choice blades of grass to take back
to Cinder and Rosie as well.

What excellent slaves Rosie and Cinder have! Thanks for the installment
of your travelogue, a nice read as usual.

The tide turned and by evening, Genesis was sitting on the mud in about 3
feet of water beside the dock. The next high tide with enough water for us
to move would be midnight and then noon. Oops.

Beach Marine, Jacksonville Beach, Florida
We decided to leave at the same time during high tide at noon..
The wind was gusty, which we don't like. Shortly before we untied the lines,
we got a weather report of stormy weather headed to the area where we
planned to anchor. Yet, if we stayed where we were, we'd be unable to leave
until afternoon the next day.
After some discussion, we left the dock to go to another marina across the
ICW.
The cats saw the preparations to leave, and settled into their routine
travel stations. When we were underway for only about a total of 20
minutes, they acted as if they were surprised that the trip was so short.
They'd barely had time to start a good nap. But, even so, they demanded
their usual treats that they get when we stop.
We hope that the weather will permit us to resume our journey tomorrow.
