Well folks and kitties, the job purrs you sent for my interview last
week seem to have done the trick. They rang me today to offer me the
job. I'm surprised and a little scared (let's face it, terrified is more
like it), having had the same job for almost 14 years now, but I think
I'll be taking the plunge. It's time.

YAY!!!! Congrats! Hope it works out wonderfully for you.
|
I will have to get myself a new anorak though. They have aeroplanes
where I'll be going.
Victor Martinez...
|
What's an anorak and why is it needed in an aeroplane?
Helen Wheels...
|
Just a silly British joke. An anorak's a sort of hooded waterproof
jacket notoriously worn by geeky nerdy types when trainspotting, or
planespotting in my case.
I should add that I do not expect to be getting in said aeroplanes
myself, just drooling from a short distance.

Congratulations! That's great news. And of course you can accessorise your
anorak with some kitty hair.

Congratulations, Helen! We hope it's everything you want it to be.
Now, what's an anorak?
Tish...
|
Same as a parka. A kind of jacket / overcoat.

Takayuki...

That's wonderful news. I'm sure it'll be stimulating trying something
new and different.

Congratulations and I'm sure you will excel. I'm very happy for you!

Congrats! What do planes have to do with jackets though?

Maybe Helen will be on an aircraft carrier or a big holiday cruiser
with a helicopter deck. Then you need watertight clothing and you are
very near to airplanes.
Also a cat will fit in nicely on a big carrier or cruiser. Big ship,
should be lots of tasty rats. And if not, some thousand people ready
to play with 24/7.
So the anorak definitively should have a pocket for a cat. Maybe
around the neck?

You have to wear an anorak while planespotting. It's tradition.

Congratulations! I'm sure you'll do well.

YAY!! Congratulations. I'm sure you'll be fine after the initial settling
in period ) which always scares ME.
Just remember that you will not be expected to be brilliant at the job on
your first day - you have to learn what they expect from you and it is up to
them to teach you.
Lots of luck!

P.S. Now we have to sort Mark out with a job..
