Jake needs recovery purrs

As usual, I feel like a bad mommy for not noticing sooner. Jake has been a
little listless the last couple of weeks. We noticed and chalked it up to
the weather. I'd stay in bed all day too if I could get away with it.

Purrs for Jake. It's hard to tell sometimes.

Wednesday night he didn't come to bed. That is almost unheard of. But
Kayla has been annoying him, etc. Thursday, I checked him over for injuries
and lifted him up to the food and water bowls. He ate but didn't drink.

He turned his back on his nightly glass of ice water last night, and opted
to sleep on the floor again, so this morning we called the vet. All they
found is that he has a very high fever. Some kind of systemic infection.
So he got a shot and we got pills for the next ten days.

He already seems to feel better. But we will still take any recovery purrs

Poor Jake! It must be very unsettling not to know what's wrong. But
if he gets better, then I guess it doesn't matter. Which I certainly
hope he does, as quickly as possible!

I know, it can be very frustrating. Doesn't help that they purr both when
they are happy and when they aren't.

Jake was purring so hard at the vet, they had a hard time listening to his
chest.

He already seems very much his old self. Takes his pills nicely, was back
between our pillows for the night etc. He is responding very well to the
antibiotics.

Purrs going out to Jake. Rusty is currently recovering from a urinary
infection.
Looking back, there were signs that I did think much of at the time, but
they
all pointed to something not quite right.
