Julie and Sam...
The histopathology report has come back. No surprises - Sam's tumor was
osteosarcoma. The good news is that all surgical margins are wide and clear.

Great news!!! More purrs for his continued improvement. I'm sure
everyone in the Group worried about him and we're all breathing a sigh
of relief. Give him a gentle hug for me.

That's wonderful!! It wasn't that long ago that his future seemed really
bleak. It's great to hear that he's able to enjoy himself now. Purrs for
him to recover fully so he can wrestle Barnabus. :)

He is continuing to improve. There has only been one time when we panicked
and considered taking him to the emergency vet but we held out, gave him a
dose of albuterol and he began to relax. The next day I took him to our
regular vet to have the Duragesic patch removed and she suggested that he
was experiencing pain when he would breath and that explained the hitch in
his breathing. Since then he hasn't had any breathing problems.

He plays, runs, jumps on mousies but he doesn't want to play with Barnabus
just yet. Barnabus likes to wrestle and when he tries that with Sam, Sam
runs and hides under the bed or under a chair. Otherwise, the rest of the
clowder is leaving him alone and letting him rest.

Next milestone will be next Friday (11/3) when his sutures are removed.

Thanks for all the purrs. I'm sure they are the reason we have had such a
successful experience with this nightmare diagnosis.

Hugs and headbutts,
Julie, Hobbes, Lacey, Sam and Barnabus
