Cheryl...
Several weeks ago I posted about kittens that will be needing
homes in Maryland. I have updated pictures of them. I failed to
write that they are my sisters cat Amber's kittens. She was
supposedly spayed, and on one of her escapes to the OUT, she ended
up pregnant. They're 3 weeks old now. My sister is still intent on

EvelynVogtGamble(Divamanque)...
I once had that experience, too! The woman I got Judy from
ASSURED me she had been spayed (the only reason I considered
taking a female cat). I'd never observed a cat in heat
before, but it's rather obvious and unmistakeable, when it
happens. I thought it would be okay, even though there was
an importunate Manx tom trying to crawl under the front door
to reach her - she was an indoor only cat. However, the
litter box was on an outdoor balcony, which I thought was
high enough above the ground, and far enough from the stairs
leading up to my front door, so it wouldn't be a problem. I
was wrong. One day I came home from work to be greeted
OUTSIDE my front door by my blue eyed white cat, and of
course she returned with incipient kittens.

rehoming Amber because the problems between her and the senior cat
are even worse now (DUH!) but even though I tell her when she's
spayed and the kittens are homed Amber should settle down, she
won't change her mind.

Marina...
Oh my goodness, more KF. That little tuxedo female looks exactly like
Nikki when she was a kitten.

Cheryl...
She seems to be one of the most social. I went over to my sis's
today, too, and the little calico tortie (I guess she's more tortie
than calico) has learned how to climb into the litter box. She was
even scratching at the litter and looked so proud of herself. :)
They got their first taste of solid food. I don't know anything
about kittens this young, but I mixed up some of Amber's Innova
canned with some KMR and let whoever wanted to lick it off my
finger. The black/white that looks like a baby Shamrock and the
tortie both learned quickly that it was food. They couldn't get
enough. They are all starting to get into play mode, and while they
wobble when they run, and their back legs don't do what they're
supposed to yet, they still run! 3 weeks old! I'm always amazed by
baby animals.

Adrian A...
Very cute! It's a pity you're so far away from Marina, she needs a ginger
(orange) kitten. ;-)

ladyjane...
Argh! She's not all that far from me, and I've declared that Rita will
be an ONLY cat.......but I feel weak. They are so cute....a little
kitten to keep her company during the day when I'm gone at work.....
Help!! I'm allergic!!

Cheryl...
Bah, help? ;)

*note to self: go see kittens and take more pictures. Cute,
irresistable pictures that will tempt Jane to think "Princess Rita
needs a baby kitten pet of her own".*

Cheryl...
I saw that! hehehehe I think someone can find her one. :)

polonca12000...
I do hope they all find their forever homes, they are all so adorable!
Best wishes,
Polonca and Soncek

Pat...
Of course they are adorable. Lucky you, to be close enough to spend some
time with them.

Cheryl, maybe if you showed your sister a few of the many past threads about
integrating new cats into a household that already has one or more resident
rulers - the most recent one I recall was started by Kajikat Karen
concerning Tessie - she would reconsider keeping Amber. It is almost never
necessary to rehome a newcomer cat if the hoomin uses common sense and has
enough patience. Proof is found in the many testimonials we've read right
here in this group.

She might listen to others' experiences even if she won't listen to you.
