Persia has, of late, become very "licky". It started before my last trip.
If we're on the couch together, I'll suddenly find her licking my hand or my
wrist or my elbow. This is usually followed by a gentle love nip so I don't
think she's demonstrating bathing techniques :) (She waits until I'm in the
bath or shower to demonstrate how it's properly done!)
She didn't used to do this but now she's doing it several times a day when
we are just relaxing. Her purr motor seems to have revved up a notch, too.
The evolution of 'owner' behavior is an interesting thing to watch. She's
been with me for 4 years now and still constantly surprises me.

Miss Chloe is a licker and then a biter, but she gently puts my finger in
the gap between her teeth and "gums" me. I don't know what the significance
is, but I don't mind because it doesn't hurt.

I've been given to understand the gentle bites are signs of affection. You
can imagine my astonishment the first time I looked over at Persia and saw
her fangs coming at my arm! But all she did was apply very gentle pressure
(like gumming me). Then she rubbed me with her head. Didn't take long to
get used to it, except for the time I was sitting on the toilet and she did
it to my knee!

Have you changed hand lotions, soap, or anything similar? Some products
seem to act as an attractant to cats.

Hmmm, not that I can think of.
