Thank you. As I mentioned, I take no credit for his good looks. (He was
adopted.) :-)

Ketzl (4-1/2-yr-old tabby adopted three years ago) won't drink from his water
bowl on the floor (which I've since dispensed with) but will only drink water
out of a glass. At first, he tried persistently to drink from my water glass;
I almost always have one nearby. Often he would push it over, resulting in
water spills all over the place.

You mean like Tyche? One of mine loves nothing more than an unattended
alcoholic drink and/or cup of coffee.

None of mine like fish, not even Smokey, my ex-feral. I don't think he
recognizes it as "food" since he never ate fish in the wild. He
exhibits a strong preference for poultry, rabbit and ham.

Beautiful silky grey cat. Loved the photos of Ketzl.

I have a male cat that also likes to "animate" the water before
drinking it. I, too, think it is so he can see the water so he won't
stick his face in it. We use big clear plastic bowls for the water.
There are two of them on the kitchen floor. He'll take his paw and
push the bowl, look at the water and then drink.

Love the sound of my kitties lapping up the water. So cute. Of course
very preferable to the dog's snorts, grunts and snores.

Welcome to the group. Kramer, our 4 month old kitten has a facination with my

Perhaps he'd enjoy a Drinkwell cat fountain? Persia won't drink water from
a bowl but I had one heck of a time keeping her from sticking her head under
the running water when I was brushing my teeth. I solved the problem by
getting her her very own cat fountain. And, to solve the problem of cold
water vs. room temp, just add ice cubes :)
