OT:Back from a computer crash

I think everything is back to the way it was, but this was ugly, and
I forgot how long it takes to rebuild from a complete crash! Ugh!
Last night McAfee told me my signature files hadn't been updated in a
couple of weeks (how did I not notice this??) and that it required
manual intervention. Long story short, I tried to reinstall McAfee
after all other attempts to fix it failed, but it made a huge mess
and I couldn't boot up. Luckily I'd made a backup of the registry
last week, so was able to boot in safe mode with the ability to
import that backup, but it didn't fix my problem. All I was able to
do was back up what I needed to my other machine, then reinstall from
scratch. I was able to get everything, but darnit I forgot to copy my
Itunes downloaded songs. I lost a lot. LOL Oh well; Its just zeros
and ones.

Purrs to all I've missed. I'm trying to catch up. Was very happy to
read about Sam.

Glad you made it back, too, Polonca! In all my years of PC homeowner-
ship, I've never had two crashes in 2 days. All seems well now.
