I don't know if you all heard on the news about the round of wildfires
we had recently. About 50 people lost their homes. One firefighter,
lived here all his life, is in very critical condition at the burn
center. The doctors are going to make the decision today whether to
amputate both arms at the forearm.
They came to tell us to evacuate the shelter. The shelter manager and
her daughter confined all the cats and leashed the dogs, and were
trying to round up enough people to transport. Like a miracle, a front
came through and the wind changed direction and they did not have to
leave.
However, neither of them would leave the shelter to check on their own
homes. Both homes burned completely to the ground. The manager's
daughter had no insurance at all. And, like Catnipped has been telling
us, it is turning out that FEMA is just a joke. (probably more on that
later).
I would really really appreciate purrs, particularly for the
firefighter. His name is Destry and he has small children and a wife.
And for the ones that lost their homes. And for rain.

Purrs for healing and rain going west. I read your answer to someone
about the rescue workers that lost their homes animals being safe.
*whew* Scary stuff Sherry. We purr for no problems with insurance
companies and we grieve for the lost priceless stuff.

Purrs for all, Sherry. And for RAIN. It's been a long time since
you've had a winter drought like this one, hasn't it?

You got it, Sherry. Purrs for all affected, and that Mother Nature
will see fit to send rain.

We are thinking of everyone and are sending lots and lots of purrs and
best wishes for Destry and the shelter manager and her daughter. Lots
and lots of purrs and best wishes for the rain to stop the devastation,
