Rocky is not fluffy. He's a 20 pound, small frame tabby and TED says diet or
die.

Perhaps switching to a low-car diet will help? Ideally, cats shouldn't
eat carbs to begin with. I suggest canned food or at least Innova Evo,
which is dry food made without grains of any kinds.

Soooo, open feeding is thing of the past. His dinner gets put up when my
Lovely Bride and I leave for work (we're not dumb as stumps, we want to get
some sleep). This was Day One of the ordeal and LB called me about 7PM to
tell me that Rocky is telling her loudly that Something Is Very Wrong.

Martha had _left_ the dinner up, ignoring all entreaties of impending doom.
Lots of maows, pitteous bleats, head bumps against her knees, you get the
picture.
Even though the dinner is back, Rocky keeps checking after all, it might go
away again. I can tell, we're going to have restless kitties from now on.
Oddly though, Gazelle hasn't had much to say.

Sounds like Molly. She pretty much ignores my existence. Unless or until
the bottom of the food bowl becomes visible. Then she becomes the sweetest
most affectionate cat on earth. Gentle paw taps to my face, ankle rubs the
works. She is lucky I don't have to heart to do this to her on purpose.

I get the same treatment from Abelard whenever he is awake and there are no
shrimpies being served. His favorite thing to do to me is headbutting, from
behind. He gets on the back of the sofa so he's at the right level to get at
my head.
