She BIT me!

jmcquown...
OUCH! Persia decided she didn't want to give up her spot on the couch and I
wasn't feeling very well so I went to scoot her over a little. She BIT me!
And then she hissed at me. Well, since I wasn't feeling very good I HISSED
right back at her (which startled her, to say the least). She had her paws
out (unfortunately someone front-declawed her) but when I hissed she
immediately tucked her paws in. No one has front declawed me so I had mine
in full display and I hissed again. She ran off to hide. Bite me? I think

Adrian A...
Poor Persia! What a mean meowmie. ;-)

Christina Websell...
There's no "Poor Persia" about it! I'd probably have done the same as Jill.

Adrian A...
That's why I put the smiley, I wasn't being serious.

jmcquown...
And of course I won't toss her out. But dammit, don't bite me! (She broke
the skin; I have two nice fan punctures, thanks!) I'm the one who took her
in. I'm the one who got her very own kitty fountain. Her very own kitty
walk. She has a lovely soft bed and knitted afghans to snooze on, and the
kitty pyramid bed. Sheesh, she lives in the lap of luxury even when I don't
have a job! No need to bite me!

Micha...
Really? You're the one who set her on diet... ;-)

I've not paid attention to her since I hissed at her. She came out of the
closet and looked at me once, then skulked back out of sight. Yeah, you
better hide from me you ungrateful cat. ;)

Will in New Haven...
Please forgive Persia. Shee dint no bettr and u tauted hr. Make niice.

An Persia, NOT TO BITE

Christina Websell...
Cats have no concept of being grateful. Being grateful is a human response.
My take on this is that you spoil her quite a bit. She gets to do anything
she wants most of the time. Maybe you need to change this if she is biting
you if you merely want to move her up to share the sofa.
Let her come out of the closet now, and adjust your face so she's not scared
to come out.
She made a mistake. She shouldn't have bitten you, she knows it. Forgive
her and if she does it again clip her gently around the ear.

Boyfriend would like a word:

(posh now, with his new microchip)

Shiral...
Deer Persia,

Biting is da one thing my meowmie is furry strict about. Even when I
get so affecshunate that I get carried away, she always tellz me "no
bites" in a furry stern tone of voice and stops paying attenshun to me
or to Neena if shez da byter. So'z probably best not to bite da
hoomins. Dey don't taste furry good, and dey don't unnerstand
sometimes we play ruff when wee feel most affecshunate.

Purrs, Francesca

not!

Kreisleriana...
My Goodness! Miss Persia, what got into you?

Micha...
IIRC she's on diet, so obviously not enough went into her.

Make Levees, Not War

Karen AKA Kajikit...
Oh dear! Was she asleep when you went over or something?

jmcquown...
Nope, she was looking at me. It wasn't like I shoved her, just gave her a
gentle nudge like, "hey, you're in my seat" :) She hid for a little bit,
then came back and was all lovey-dovey again. We both got over it.

tension_on_the_wire...
By the way, now that it has been over 48 hours....how's your hand
looking? If there's any redness or tenderness still there, you might
have Pasteurella Multocida infection and you would wanna visit your
human vet for antibiotics, as it can be a nasty infection.

Takayuki...
She must have really liked her spot on the couch. Or maybe you
accidentally sat on her tail? It's cute how she tucked in her paws
though.

jmcquown...
She did! She knew I wasn't kidding. So she tucked her paws under herself.
I'm not a great big person but I am a LEO ;) When I hiss, I mean it!

tension_on_the_wire...
She loves you and probably feels quite bad about it and is in need of
some forgiveness by now. Time for making up...the best part!
