Yesterday I got the christmas decorations out... we're not having a
tree because Tessie would be guaranteed to destroy it, but I thought

We have a fake tree due to allergies. We put decorations on the top
2/3 only, we skip icicles, and we have forgone my nice German blown
glass ornaments in favour of plastic ones that wont break if the tree
goes over. We've done this for the past 3 years due to KITTENZ. This
year, we are going to try decorating the whole tree, except for tinsel
ropes only on the top 2/3, as last year they left it mostly alone.
It seems age doesn't cure all badnesses though...

it would be safe to put a solid plastic snowflake garland up above our
wardrobe... it looked like it was too high for even Tessie to reach so
it would be 'safe'... who was I kidding? I came out to the livingroom
this morning to find it in a crumpled heap in the corner of the
livingroom, complete with the plastic light-clips I used to attach it
to the wall. Now, it's possible that it was too heavy and pulled the
clips down by itself, but I doubt it - I'm pretty sure it had help!

If you want Christmas decorations in an apartment with a kitten, you
just about have to suspend your Christmas tree upside down from the
center of the ceiling =o) And even then, the little monsters will find
SOME way to destroy whatever they can. =o) This is why my Christmas
decorations often begin and end with a wreath on my front door.

I don't have kittens but I have wreaths on the front and back doors, that's
the extent of it. I don't actually celebrate Christmas but it's a nod
towards tradition. Yule is December 22nd :)
