Did I really say that?!

Julie Cook...
I had to go to Petsmart today...bad mistake, well maybe not, maybe I was led

Pat...
I believe you were! And I believe the URI problem will clear up sooner thank
you expect!

there. Anyway, there was a rescue group there and they had the cats
displayed in cages arranged down the main aisle that leads to the cat
section. Of course I had to stop and admire the kittens and cats. There was
one little lady there who was lying half in/half out of her litterbox. I
was scritching her ear because she looked so very sad. She wouldn't lift her
head, she just lay there watching. Her foster mom told me she had just been
returned. It seems these people adopted her when she was six months old and
eight months later they returned her because they didn't want her anymore.
So now she's a 1 1/2 year old cat competing with kittens for adoption.
She's a very pretty tortie. I gave her foster mom my phone number and told
her that I had a URI going through my house right now and that I had a
couple of trips coming up but if she didn't find her one true home by the
middle of October to call me and I would give her a lifetime home. I told DH
about her tonight and he agreed. I wish I could bring her home right now but
I can't take a chance of her getting this bug that has made Lacey so sick.
But she's with a fosterer so she's not in a cage or threatening to be PTS so
she'll be alright and if this is supposed to be it will happen for us.

Monique Y. Mudama...
Purrs for her to find a good foreverhome, either yours or someone else
as wonderful.

Marina...
Oh, I hope it will! You said exactly the right thing!

Julie, Hobbes, Lacey, Sam and Barnabus

Karen...
That's a very prudent decision and you said just the right thing.

Cheryl...
You will know when the time is right. :) You did so good
integrating Sam, so please think about a time when you're home for
a stretch to integrate another. I sure don't want that to make you
not take in this needy girl! She'll be so lucky if you can take her
in. And if not, we're sending purrs for her to find her
foreverhome, wherever it is.

Helen Wheels...
Sounds like you said it all right, and we're glad you did. Good news!

Marina...
I can't believe that, either. Frank had been returned to his original
home, not once but TWICE when he was a kitten. Maybe that is why we
became so bonded. When he finally learned to believe that I wouldn't
return him and that he really had a onetruehome for life, maybe he
wanted to reward me by becoming my closest friend. Whatever his reason,
I certainly tried to make up for his unhappy kittenhood and feeling
unwanted.

polonca12000...
Lots of purrs and best wishes for the kitty to find her onetruehome
with you or someone else,
Polonca and Soncek

Takayuki...
It sounds like how things started with Selena. The ones who are grown
up and had a home before are just too good at looking sad when they're
in a cage.

Shiral...
a LIMITED pox on the unworthy slaves who returned her (Although as
someone else pointed out, they were at least responsible enough to give
her back to kind people and not just dump her at the pound or worse, on
the street and leave her there.)But she gave them her unconditional
love, and they gave her back! How can she possibly understand that? The
poor thing is in mourning for the hoomins she thought she loved and was
loved by in return. I hope she can learn to trust, again.

I hope this tortoise shell lady either finds a good home with new
slaves as worthy as you, or that she'll come live at your place by
Mid-October, Julie. There's always room for one more, right? =o)

The circumstances you describe sound a little like Cesca's situation
when I first spotted her at the Humane Society. She was just enough
past kittenhood that adoption would have been tougher for her, but she
was--and still is--so pretty, that I just could not leave her there to
face being PTS.

Ummmm....Upon consideration, I guess getting adopted WASN'T so tough
for her after all. =o)
