Boxing Day the shooting started. Quite near the village the traditional
shooting parties were out. Unusual that they were so close to the village as usually they are much further out. Da Boyz, the three male pheasants that had been visiting the garden, strutting their stuff and feasting on the bird food I put out *disappeared*. Oh drat. Well, I actually thought a much worse phrase. Someone was in for a tasty meal of nut-infused pheasant. The shooting went on for days, and Da Boyz were not seen. I was convinced they'd met their end. But no! Da Boyz are back! Obviously they kept well hidden. All three are back in the garden this morning, strutting and feasting. So I've put out extra nuts and seeds to welcome them back :-D Adrian A...
