Hoomin note: I seem to have turned into a lurker lately. Just can't
seem to keep up with the group. Stil thinking of you all and sending
silent purrs, but not posting much as RL is keeping me busy. I kind of
enjoyed my last posting of a clowder meeting, so instead of just
posting an update on how things are going here I including the update
in the minutes of another clowder meeting report being sent off to the
Mothership. This post is part one. If the meeting thing isn't to your
liking you can skip down to the hoomin note at the end for an update
on one of the strays I was working on socializing.

Title: Official Minutes from Touchstone Cat Meeting
Submitted To: Mothership
cc: RPCA Feline Masters/Mistresses
Little Bit: Before I call this meeting to order, as senior feline
present I have a few comments. First, there is to be no repeat of the
behavior demonstrated at the last meeting. Is this fully understood?
[Sammy and Spotty, looking as innocent as only cat can look, look at
each other and then both give LB a puzzled looks]
LB: Don't give me that look! It may work on hoomins, but it doesn't
fool me. I said, "Is that understood?"
[S & S give each other another a look, shrug, and nod]
LB: OK, just remember that the Mothership has reviewed the minutes of
the last meeting, and I have full backing for any discipline I deem
necessary to avoid any repeat!
This meeting is now called to order. I move that we skip the reading
of the minutes from the last meeting to avoid trouble. Do I have a
second?
[S & S give each other another a look and nod]
LB: Any discussion? [S & S shake their heads no] Motion carried.
Secretary Sam, any old business?
Sammy: Well, that stoopid orange cat that was coming around to eat on
the patio hasn't been seen around lately.
LB: You mean the one the hoomin was calling Citrus?
S: Yep, that's the one.
LB: hmmm, Spotty, as the most recent clowder member to live in the
OUT, do you have any idea where the cat called Citrus has gotten off
to?
Sp: Yes and no.
[NOTE from Secretary Sammy: Following instructions from the
Mothership, Spot's comments will be more grammatically correct and
even spelled correctly - or at least as close as it can get without a
spell checker]
[LB waits for Sp to continue, but Sp just sits there looking back at
her]
LB: Please explain, is it yes or no?
Sp: If the question is, "Do I know where Citrus is?" the answer is no.
[Sp stops smugly eyes LB like the cat who ate the proverbial canary]
LB: Enough stalling, please continue.
Sp: OTOH, if the question is do I have an idea where he's gotten off
to, then yes. The rumor going on among the Outside cats is that Citrus
found himself a home and now commands a slave or two of his own.
[Hoomin note - ignoring the fact that I'm not supposed to be able to
read Clowder minutes.
I didn't see Citrus for a couple weeks, and was especially worried
because he was just getting to the point where he was beginning to
trust me enough to pet him a little. About two weeks ago I thought I
saw him, but wasn't sure. Last week he was here when I got home from
work. Almost didn't recognize him, but it was definitely Citrus. He
was wearing a collar and tags, and has lost that scrawny look as he's
been eating well. Someone snatched him up and took him to TED (still
too shy around hoomins for me to check to see if he was neutered). I'm
guessing he's being kept inside, and just managed to slip out the
couple times I've seen him.

You've got to contact whoever he's enslaved and let them know that his name
is Citrus. Would be such a shame if that wonderful cute name got lost.
