Stray Kitty Purrs Please!

sriddles...
I have a stray cat quarantined here tonight. Long story, but the kitty
has some obvious health issues and is quite thin. She has an
appointment with TED tomorrow to evaluate just what is going on with
her. She is a longhaired tuxedo girl and is a very sweet, affectionate
cat.

Unfortunately, I don't feel real good about this. She looks like a
poster cat for Feleuk/FIP. But I hope I'm wrong and that she only needs
some nutrition and maybe antibiotics.

So Im asking for purrs/good thoughts that some TLC & vet care will fix
her up.

Victor Martinez...
Lots and lots of purrs for the little girl.

sriddles...
Your purrs worked! We just got back. This kitty's whole problem was a
sticker (grass burr) lodged in her throat. It had been there so long
that an infection had set in, thus the sores in her mouth. Removal of
the sticker, and some antibiotic with medicine that reduces swelling,
and she's good to go!!
But "go where" I'm not sure yet.

Rhonda...
Wow Sherry, you are wonderful! You saved that cat in so many ways.

What a horrible time she must have had, trying to eat while in such
pain. I can't even imagine having that thing in my throat plus an
infection on top of that. She must be so relieved -- I'm sure she feels
like she's gone to heaven!

Takayuki...
Can you imagine?! It must have been terrible.

Good work!

Thanks again!
Sherry

Sam...
Purrs on the way, Sherry. Thanks for taking her in and seeing to her
welfare.

The Polish-Kraut...
Prayers and purrs on way for everything to work out for her and thanks
to you for caring for and worrying about it.

God bless you and it.

sriddles...
OK, Karen, I got a couple. She is a very photogenic cat, because the
pictures look way better than *she* does. You can't tell how thin she
is unless you look at her backbone. But I think she has *lots* of
potential, esp. with such a nice personality.

Tish...
She looks just like Persephone, but with a fluffy tail! Persephone
sends her chirrrps and mrrrps and wow-wows to her stunt double.

Yowie...
Those whiskers! She's a keeper!

Marina...
She's beautiful! I'm so glad she didn't have anything worse wrong with
her. Purrs for her recovery. Now I have to repeat my question: what are
you going to name her? ;o)

tanada...
Just came into this. She's a pretty little thing with such a sweet face.
Purrs and happy thoughts for her to have the perfect onetruehome. Thank you
for being you and taking care of the little lady.

Pat...
Look at the way she's looking at you!

sriddles...
They all look at me like that. That's the problem, LOL. That's why I
have six cats, TWO cats over my limit.

jmcquown...
otherwise this is great news! Thank you for taking care of her, Sherry.

jmcquown...
Oh what a sweetie! I just know when she's back to normal and puts on some
weight she's going to be absolutely gorgeous! Look at that big tail!

mlbriggs...
That tail looks like a plume. She will be a beauty. MLB

Karen...
Oh look at that TAIL! She is just a sweetie pie! I so hope you can get her
all fixed up and find a forever home for her.

Adrian A...
She's a very sweet looking cat, what a beautiful tail. Have you got a name
for her yet?

Karen...
You know, I grew up with SEVEN cats in a 926 sq ft house.....

(that is definitely some hero worship going on there.)

mlbriggs...
Great news! It sounds like you have an efficient Vet. Will send purrs
that the infection heals quickly and that someone with a tender heart and
soul gives her a loving home. Purrs also that she can eat while her
throat heals. Best wishes. MLB

sriddles...
Besides being efficient, I think they're starting to have pity on me or
something. They charged me $23 not only to remove the sticker, but for
the injection and take-home antibiotics. It could be a mistake too, I
did not question it!

The Polish-Kraut...
I have seen those while on vacation at my sister in law. I bet those
WOULD feel a little uncomfortable in your mouth / throat !!

Matthew...
Your age is showing ;-)

Just kidding Sherry :)

Adrian A...
I'm so happy to hear it, thanks for the update.

Marina...
Many purrs for the poor girl. If she is healthy, what will you name her? ;o)

Kreisleriana...
Purrs for the stray girlie.

mlbriggs...
We shall purr that the health problems are curable. Do people in your
vicinity ever advertise for lost cats? MLB

sriddles...
Occasionally, but not often. There is a public bulletin board at the
post office, and a newspaper. This kitty started hanging around my
son's house and just would not leave. I kind of suspect she belonged
to a family that moved and they left her. Anyway she was just so thin.
First I thought she just needed food, but she would just pick at the
food and not really eat. We thought her teeth might be bad, but it
turns out she has sores all in her mouth. So I just brought her home. I
have been very careful to not expose her to the other cats, I know that
calci virus causes mouth ulcers, but feleuk cats and FIP cats also get
them. Poor little thing. She really is such a sweet cat.

Pat...
Could just be very advanced malnutrition. Have you tried giving soft food?

Purrs coming for everything to work out for the best.

Adrian A...
Purrs for a good outcome.
