sriddles...
Pat is having trouble with her computer and would like someone to
e-mail her the holiday card list, so that she can download it at the
local library and finish her cards.

If anyone can help, please send the list to her at this address:

suzuko at netzero dot net

Pat...
I couldn't see the screen on the monitor, it just went black. I rebooted to
see if that would fix it and the motherboard kept repeating "Your memory, we
have a problem" (apparently that is what it has been saying from time to
time when I thought I was hearing "By golly, we have a problem".

So I've done some testing and found that one of the two 512MB modules is
indeed bad, AND the monitor is toast also! Thank goodness I have this little
CRT and the computer can run on one just memory stick for the time being.

Yes, that email is an alternate. I was going to check email at the library
and try to finish addressing my cards (no printer, so no printed list), but
I did not know the password for the centurytel address. Haven't gotten
around to memorizing, changing, or writing it down yet.

But it didn't matter anyway because the library computers were all in use
until closing time. So I mailed out the cards I had already done, and still
have maybe 6-10 more to do. They will, God willing, go into tomorrow's mail.

Jo Firey...
You are going to shame me into getting into gear on my cards if I can't do
it myself aren't you? (That is meant to be humorous if it doesn't sound
that way)

My computer is behaving badly, but nowhere near that badly. I've just had a
horrible DSL connection for a few weeks and haven't been able to concentrate
well enough to work on it. Feeling sorry for myself as you can't call a
help desk when you can't hear. And yes I know most of the time they are
perfectly useless.

Anybody know what to do when it says it can't repair the connection because
it can't clear the DNS cache? I thought I'd cleared it myself but it still

Pat...
I'm very new to this but have a look here:

Jo Firey...
Thanks, but way over my head. And to think I was once the computer expert
in this town.

Pat...
All it basically says is you might benefit by turning off Norton Firewall if
you have it.

isn't happy.

MaryL...
Sherry,

Which Pat is it you are talking about? I said I would send the list, then
realized that this is not the address I have, so I want to verify the name
before sending the list. You can send it to my email address, if you
prefer.

MaryL...

sriddles...
Mary, yes, it is Pat Davis. I think this one is an alternate e-mail
address she has. Thanks!
Sherry,

MaryL...
Okay, thanks. I'll send it.

I will send it right away.
