Abelard the Hellion, Part II

What has gotten into Abelard? That is the burning question of the day....

He's been following Lily around and trying to get her to pay attention to
him, and she's having none of it, growling and trying to hide everywhere.

She squeezes herself under the sofa as he stands with a raised paw, waiting
to strike at her when she comes out.... The look on his little face is
saying "I'm a lean, mean, feline machine and I'm GOING to GET you!!"

She slips out from under the sofa skirt to dash under a table, with Abelard
in run-stalking hot pursuit. He reaches under and takes a few determined
whaps at her, so she runs under the desk at meowmie's feet, followed closely
by her wired Abyssinian enemy. After a minute or so, Abelard's attention
wanders and he moves off to do some quick belly-grooming.

Now Lily has come out from under the desk and is sitting on the floor next
to my chair, peering around the corner to see if Abelard is still there. He
sees her look at him and they're off and running once more.

This behavior is so out of character for Abelard that it's absolutely
hilarious! I think he may be trying to emulate his Unka Eli.

What's more, I was sure I was in trouble this morning because I let the
litterboxes go without cleaning for more than 24 hours, and throughout his
life Abelard will NOT use a litterbox that shows any evidence of prior use.
However, a while ago I witnessed him get into the dirtiest of the five
boxes, dig a hole, squat down and relieve his bladder.

Of course that got me started singing his praises!
