It's not very common, I guess, that a job interview includes dinner and
beer...
I had such an interview this evening, and it was for a job I never had
applied for.

It was a friend of mine who contacted an old buddy from college, and he told
him about me. So I sent off my CV on Friday, and today I was on the
interview. Worst of all, it sounded very promising, I feel that I'm just
three inches away from getting the job!

I've been mostly out of work for the last two years, so... I guess I will
know how it goes by the end of the week. Of course I'll keep you informed!

Got a phone call this morning, the Chairman of the Board is flying in from
Bergen on Thursday to interview me. I think this means something serious.
I'm both excited and a bit scared...

Good luck! Sometimes it's the jobs that just fall in our laps that are

The interview with the Chairman of the Board went even better than I could
have thought of in my wildest imagination! It seems they *really* want me to
work for them.
Their philosophy is partly based on the idea that senior consultants are
more valuable than the world outside sometimes seems to understand. In fact,
he was wondering if we should sign the contract next Thursday, but he wanted
to contact a couple of my references (former employers) before that. So I
spent a great deal of Friday morning contacting these people, to tell them
that they should expect being contacted.
I feel quite good about this now, and I think I'm only half an inch away
from the goal... I will know by the middle of next week :-)

Yay! I'm glad that it's going incredibly well for you. This cheers
me up because I've been feeling a bit down about job interviews lately
