(This actually Kajikit... my computer won't start up this morning so
I'm borrowing Johns!)

Adrian...

I took a few photos of Tessie yesterday afternoon after we brought her
home... right now she's meatloafing on the dresser - she's obviously

polonca12000...
Great pics!
Lots and lots of purrs and best wishes for the slow integration to work
really well,
Polonca and Soncek

not the slightest bit concerned about being in a new place! I carried
her home from the vets in my arms and she snuggled into me and
gradually revved up her purrs en route until she was practically
shaking the car! She didn't want to go back into the cardboard carrier
but John said we should bring her upstairs in it so the girls didn't
see me carrying her in my arms (and so she couldn't see them right
away)...

The girls are taking it okay so far... when I brought the cardboard
carrier in and set it down in the spare room and got her food and
water and litter they both snuck in to sniff at it and gave a good
hiss at her. Then I shut the door and let her out. Scouty seems to
think that Meowmie should NOT be on the other side of a closed door so
she's come and squeaked at me a few times and I've gone out to her...
Silver is ambivelant. She hissed at Scouty once and when she saw the
kitten when John came in and left the door open for a minute (he was
standing in the doorway) she stared at Tessie for a moment in silence
and then hissed and ran away (Tessie of course hissed back). We're not
going to rush the integration... the good thing is that Scouty and
Silver have accepted the kitten's smell - they're not afraid of being
touched after we've petted the kitten, in fact they were sniffing our
fingers very curiously...

Now for the photos -

Tessie sprawling so you can see her shaved tummy... poor little girl!

And Tessie exploring the window sill and soaking up the afternoon sun.

i just went over to the window and picked tessie up. she's snuggling
into my arms and purring and kneading rather painfully! but scouty
just squeaked on the other side of the door she wants me out there
with her...

No hisspits and snarls (yet)... Scouty and Silver really want to get
into the craftroom though - they hate closed doors. I just went in to
say good morning to Tessie and when I opened the door to go out Scouty
poked her head in and got bopped by the door cause I didn't notice her
:( Poor baby... I apologised profusely but apparantly it didn't hurt
her - she's lying on the bed and she let me scritch her tummy.
:) Tessie would like as much attention as humanly possible and then some!
But I'm not sure how much to give her - every time I go into the
craftroom Scouty and Silver sit outside the door to wait for me, and
Scouty starts meeping at me if I don't come out again in five minutes!

Adrian...
It sounds like you've got off to a really good start. Purrs for an easy
integration. I hope your computer is soon working again.

Sounds good so far! Tessie will get accustomed to being shut up in the
room and be okay with it. If you get an opportunity to shut the door on
Scout and Silver (when they're sleeping in another bedroom, for
instance)...you can let Tessie have the run of the house for a few
hours. I wouldn't do this right away, but after things settle down a
bit.

Karen AKA KajiKit...
Alas we live in a two-bedroom apartment and there ARE only two doors
to close... Scouty and Silver HATE closed doors and I think they'd
have a fit if I tried to shut them into the bedroom - the only time
they'll allow it is if workmen are here and the closed door makes them
feel safer...

Just remember, it's a process. I hate to put a time frame on it,
because every cat is different; but Biskit stayed in the bedroom three
weeks. Bosley stayed there almost six weeks. They accepted Angel almost
right away; but she was a baby.
As always, your mileage will vary. My cats are very accustomed to me
bringing assorted street riff-raff into the house.

Pat...
You don't want me to tell Billy & Lily that you said this, do you? ;)

And good luck!! Keep us posted.

kilikini...
Nice pix! Sounds like you're off to an excellent start. Purrs that the
whole integration process goes well.
