Pat...
Now PLEASE don't laugh or try to discourage me, cuz even if this effort
fails, it's not costing me a cent, and I think it's worth taking the chance
that it's for real.... Last Friday I read an ad and the author of the ad (a
total stranger) gave me $10 (Paypal) for helping him fill a requirement from
one of those giveaway promotion sites. Not a bad idea, but I can't afford to
follow suit (I might, if I could).

The deal is, if I refer 20 people who complete an "offer" (even a free one)
within 90 days, then this company sends me a free laptop (which I've been
wanting forEVER). They have five or six different ones to pick from
including Apple.

So, IF you'll spare a few minutes to help me fill MY quota, email me
off-list. No worries, it's free (unless you choose a not-free "offer") and
you DO NOT need to get others to sign up (unless you wanna go for a free
laptop too). Unfortunately, the only country other than the USA where this
deal will work is Germany, so if you're somewhere else, you can't do this.

pdavis at fidnet dot com *really* wants a laptop!!!

P.S. The offer I took was 30 days of unlimited Blockbuster rentals and used
the $10 gift to pay for it. Sweet deal... I put forty-two DVDs into my
queue. They will start shipping some tomorrow. I'm wondering how many I will
actually get to see before the 30 days is up!

ALSO - If you live near a Blockbuster and can use my free in-store rental
coupons, let me know and I'll send them to you.

Good luck getting the laptop, would you get the Apple given the chance?

Pat...
Probably not. I like Toshiba. I don't think I'll be able to get any of them,
because no one has offered to help, but in case I can do it, which would you
recommend? The choices are:

Apple iBook
Gateway NX550
hp NX6110
Sony VAIO FS940
Toshiba Satellite M45-S169

Adrian A...
I don't really know enough to recommend one. I've heard the new Apples can
run a utility called Boot Camp which allows you to run Windows or OS X.
