Lots and lots of purrs on your way.

I was turned down by SSDI. I lost yet another friend, who was the one
truly trying to make my life better, and was even going to help me
with getting my poetry published. I got upset, he got angry, he left
my manuscript on my porch, he's gone. DH is talking divorce.
I really can't take much more of this.

I wish I could make it better for you, sweetie. Maybe it's time to sit
back with a cup of chamomile tea and take a couple of deep breaths and a
break. I'll be thinking kind thoughts for you and ask the owners to
purr for your peace of mind and for things to be much better. Please
take care of yourself, we all love you.

Thank you Pam, and thank you all for your kind thoughts and words.
You guys are wonderful and mean a lot to me.
I didn't even mention in my post that the new landlord is looking to
sell the building, too. :-(
I finally e-mailed my Will information to my attorney yesterday, and
asked about talking to him about helping with the SSDI appeal. That
seems to be all I can do right about now.
Maybe a break, some good chamomile or mint, and some deep breaths (as
much as I can take them, that is) is a good idea. And pet a bunch of
kitties, of course.
Thank you all again.

I've been in and out lately - no time to read everything.
While you're sipping your herbal tea, ask your attorney
to refer you to a local one (if possible, local) who
*specializes* in SSDI. I have no personal experience,
but two friends (in wide-apart areas of USA, but not
near you) cut lotsa red tape, waiting, and time off their
applications/documentation. Think about it.
That might be a constructive move for you.

I have to agree. It's almost essential, now-a-days, to have an attorney or
you just won't get SSDI (or wait years for it and wade through miles of red
tape). A lot of attorneys will take it on a commission basis (they take a
percentage of your first lump-sum payment).

But, blanket purrs and congrats and hugs and whatever else is needed.
It's impossible to catch up individually right now.

Have you looked to yourself for the source of some of these problems,
or have you decided you are entirely blameless? There are always things
you can do.

Gingerlyn, don't be despondent over the SSDI deal. Everyone gets turned
down the first time. *Especially* people who are as young as you are --
they don't want to pay out for so many years. Appeal it.

SSDI is disability, right? Appeal appeal appeal... almost everyone
gets turned down on their first try, and a lot of people think that's
it, but you can keep trying and eventually they'll give in. You have
to be more stubborn than they are.
(big huggles and purrayers for you)
