badwilson...
Ok, Dennis has left for another 4 week work stint and I've got a few
days off work, so have had time to finally catch up on the NG, which
I've merely been skimming lately.
I won't reply to all the posts, but want to send out purrs to everyone
who needs them.

Last week, Dennis and I had our first grown-up dinner party. This
involved several appetizers, main course, dessert, and appropriate
drinks, etc. I've never done anything like that before, so was very
nervous and spent the whole day in preparation.
I'm proud to say it all went very well, whew!
But the funny part was that Vino hadn't gotten a whole lot of attention.
During the day, when I was preparing, he didn't care because he was
zonked out on the bed sleeping anyways. But once the guests arrived, he
kept pacing around, peeping out from behind furniture, and just
generally being a cute little goofball.
The funniest stunt though was while we were all sitting down to dinner
and all of a sudden Vino trotted past the table with a furry mouse in
his mouth, yowling all the way. After a minute, he trotted back the way
he came in a very determined manner. It was soooo funny, it was just
like a little kid going, "Look at me! Look at me!".
Everyone had a good laugh and the guests were relieved to hear that it
was a cat toy and not a real mouse :-)

Victor Martinez...
LOL! I would love to have the crew out and about when we have parties,
but they are such spoiled brats they would be on the table immediately,

Adrian A...
You mean therw's something wrong with that? ;-)

kilikini...
Mine never beg for food, unless I have crab or shrimp - then it's a constant
chorus. Even if I *try* to give them people food, like chicken, they turn
up their noses. Isn't that funny?

badwilson...
never actually eat at the table, so he doesn't associate it with food?
Who knows. But he's such a good boy, he doesn't really beg for food
anyway.

jmcquown...
Persia begs for snacks (she doesn't get them) but she doesn't jump on tables
or counters. From time to time she jumps on the bathroom counter to look at
herself in the mirror ;) Yes, she knows she's pretty! But she's never
jumped up on my kitchen counters or my coffee table. If I had a dining room
table she probably wouldn't jump on that, either.

Vino will beg for ham. He can smell it a mile away and comes running.
But he's not usually interested in hoomin dinners.
He gets on the bathroom counter all the time, likes to drink out of the
tap and also sits there and stares through the glass shower door the
whole time I'm showering.
He used to get on the kitchen counter all the time in Thailand, because
we had a great window there from which he watched the outside. But in
our kitchen here, there is nothing to see from the window but a big tall
solid wood fence 3 feet away. So he doesn't get up on that counter much
at all.
We don't care if he gets up on the counter or table anyway. Just seems
like it could be a neverending struggle to keep your cat off. It's just
funny how he changed his habits according to the view from the counter
and it had nothing to do with the food at all.

begging for food.

Helen Wheels...
Glad to hear the little sweetie's getting back to his old self again.

Marina...
LOL! What a little darling he is!
