I have two cats, Checkers (8) and Dulci (1). Checkers is a very typical
female cat. Plays with yarn, sleeps in the sun, and HATES baths. Dulci, on
the other hand, really doesn't seem to mind getting a bath, as long as it's
over fairly quickly. Well, anyway, last night was bath night for both of
them. We'd just put water in the tub and gone to get Dulci... Checkers
thought we were after her and ran through the house, into the bathroom, and
jumped right into the tub!!!! It's just a deep enough tub that she couldn't
easily jump out again with it being wet, so needless to say John & I were
both roundly kitty-cussed.... but it was worth it!!!

Yoda got his *first bath ever* last night. He is 14 years old. I
accidentally spilled some grease drained off of a smoked brisket on his
back. He was greasy and he smelled strongly like brisket. Had to be
done.
I put him in the kitchen sink. He yowled, hollered, screamed like I was
killing him. He stiffened out straight as a board to make himself as
unmanageable as possible. But he didn't claw or bite. It was a fast
bath too, believe me.
I used Dawn Dishwashing liquid because I thought it would cut the
grease better than shampoo. It was hard to rinse out. DH finally felt
sorry for us both and helped or I'd have never gotten the soap out.
It's been 24 hours and he's starting to come around and forgive me.
I probably should have been bathing them so they'd be used to it and it
wouldn't be so traumatic. But they've always just stayed clean by
themselves.

LOL! Too bad you didn't have a video camera.
Reminds me of our Sweetpea. She and Smokey were chasing each other and Sweetpea
jumped up on the clothes hamper, unfortuantely for her the lid was up. What a
look on her face...priceless.

OH I couldn't help but laugh at this! Just the word image is hiliarious.
Every time I take Persia to be boarded they ask me if I want her to be
bathed. Uh, no. Why bath her? She smells nice and she gets brushed
regularly. I offered to let them try to bathe her without a complaint for
free. Funny, they turn me down every time :)
She does walk along the tub when I'm soaking or when I'm in the shower,
telling me all about how I'm in WATER and I'm getting all wet. She tells me
rather loudly. I'm pretty sure she wouldn't appreciate me pulling her in
there with me.
