Scoopaway formula changed?

Monique Y. Mudama...
I buy 38 lb buckets of ScoopAway unscented litter. Today I opened a
new bucket, and the litter seems to be a darker grey than I remember.

Not a big deal, and Oscar has already, er, stamped the new litter with
her approval, but I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this?

jmcquown...
I don't know. I buy the el-cheapo stuff (Kittie Diggins) and it's just as
scoopable and clumps up nicely. Wouldn't surprise me if they changed the
formula, though. They do that sort of thing all the time. Just like when
you decide you like a particular thing at the grocery store or a particular
type of lipstick and suddenly you can't find it anymore. Bites, doesn't it?

Monique Y. Mudama...
Yeah -- I wish they'd just leave well enough alone. Every time I go
to buy deoderant, they all look completely different and whatever
scent I decided I liked is no longer available.

Such is life.

EvelynVogtGamble(Divamanque)...
A friend and I used to discuss opening a "product testing"
company - so many things we liked seemed to be promptly
discontinued that we thought maybe we could make money from
renting out our skills. ("If Evelyn and Jackie like it, you
can be sure it won't sell.")

MaryL...
There is a place called Vermont Country Store that specializes in all sorts
of name brands "from the past." Their online site is at

jmcquown...
I LOVE The Vermont Country Store! I got a fireplace popcorn popper from
there (and a few to give as gifts). Another fun catalog is Lehman's. The
Wow! My great aunt had one and she made the most fantastic pies. How the
heck do you know when the wood is right? She just held her hand over the
wood and *knew*. Then she cooled them in the windowsill.

MaryL...
Thanks. I wasn't familiar with this one.

jmcquown...
Check out the spatterware (aka grannyware). If you ever go on trips with
the furrkids and need to cook on a grill, that stuff will hold up against
just about anything. Cleans up slick as a whistle. It's cheap, too. I
think I paid about $15 for different sized pans. And who's mom or grandma
didn't have one of those black speckled with white oval turkey roasting
pans? LOL

My mom loves the maple leaf shaped syrup candy from The Vermont Country
store. I need to send her another bag of it :) Hey, my parents will have
been married for FIFTY FIVE YEARS on July 2nd. Wowsa! Maybe I should send
her a kitten! LOL Just kidding. She and Dad don't like cats. Too bad for
them, eh?

MaryL...
Now you've brought back memories. I already have a few pieces of the blue
spatterware, simply because I remember my grandmother using it. And I

Singh...
I've thought of getting some spatterware. I used to take care of little old
babcias who had pieces older than they were, and in great shape.

always buy some maple syrup for friends when I go to Ohio. Vermonters won't
find it acceptable, but I specifically buy maple syrup processed in a
specific area of northeast Ohio because I grew up there and can still
remember the sap buckets that "festooned" some of the trees.

Winnie...
I live in Canada's maple syrup country. I bought local syrup from this
year's harvest. Can't get much fresher than that. Already finished more
than half of is even though I don't take it that much.

Singh...
May the Vermonters forgive me too, because I try to buy New York maple syrup
when I can. Louie thinks it's superior to Vermont's; he says the only three good
regions for syrup are Vermont, New York and Quebec. Vermont has some great
cheddar though!

Blessed be,
Baha

Winnie...
I am thinking of mixing some Swheat Scoop with the Maxx Scoop.

jmcquown...
Tangee! I'd forgotten about that! Time for me to pull up the website and
get myself a little treat. They still sell that perfume in the blue
bottle... Evening in Paris?

Singh...
I have always wanted to try Evening in Paris. My buddy Brian and I searched
years for it. I almost fainted when i saw it in the catalog.

We're showing our ages, ladies. Don't even ask me what music I'm
listening to right now... but does anyone remember Petula Clark? :D

Singh...
Didn't she do "Downtown"? We have weekly free concerts in Downtown Buffalo,
and after the show it always closes with that song.

Blessed be,
Baha

jmcquown...
She certainly did! "When you're alone and life is making you lonely you can
always go Downtown!" How can you you lose? The lights are much brighter
there, you can forget all your troubles, forget all your cares.

Winnie...
That's right. The words are coming back to me..I just reserved a Petula
Clark CD from
the library. And I am going downtown tomorrow, God willing.

Winnie

Might even find a kitty cat :)

Winnie...
I used Swheat Scoop and they changed the formula. Eventually I decided
it was too pricey and dusty. Rusty also tracked it all over. Now I am
back to using Maxx Scoop. Rusty even looks like the cat in the
commercial.
Another poster in this group mentioned a brand in WalMart, Fresh
smothing. But the local WalMart doesn't have it.

Winnie...
I certainly remember Petula Clark. Used to listen to her music. Time
for me to
go buy her CD, if any.
