Persia's nickname is the rumblebug. She purrs so loudly some times I can't
hear myself think. When she's sleeping she purrs gently but if she wants

The bitties are very loud and will purr if you so much as look at them.
It's a great surround-sound effect when you have one on the bed on
each side of you.
Smokey's purr sounds like a rude phone call. It's quiet and gaspy.
His squints are a much more reliable indicator of his happiness because
his purrbox is rusty if not broken.
Nox's purrs aren't very loud, but feel awesome through the pillow or
against the back of your head or your lap. My friend is awed when I
put my ear on her back to hear if she's purring. He doesn't want his
face that close to her fangs.

food she sounds like a boat moter. What's really funny is when she yawns
while she's purring. Then she sounds like she's saying "roar". It's cute

I've always wanted a loud purrer, but the only one who is loud is Pine
Cone, and only if we abandon him with just a house sitter for a while.
The rest purr a lot, but you practically have to find out by feel,
rather than by ear.

I think I've mentioned this before here at RPCA, but Emily purrs at the
wrong time - when the vet is using his stethoscope to check her
heartbeat! And it's not a fear purr - she really enjoys all the
attention she gets during her yearly checkups.

Oh, to answer your question in the header - Emily has a VERY loud purr,
the vet tells me!

Thaat sounds like Cleo! She is definitely the loudest purrer of our bunch.
When she curls up on Nancy's pillow on turns on the purr-motor I can hear
her from out in the hallway.
Amelia likes to climb up on my chest as soon as I lie down and purrs right
in my face, though not nearly as loud as Cleo does. What I really like is
when Amelia is getting really relaxed and sighes while she purrs. It
sounds so very cute!
Tabitha and Sammy both very soft purrs.
Harri and Ranger can both have pretty noticeable purrs when they want to.
They only purr when they are being snuggle kitties. But when they decide
to snuggle they'll climb up into my arms and flop down with tummy in the
air, and as soon as I start to pet soft kitty tummy I get treated to the
most wonderous purring.

Silver purrs moderately loud, say a medium rumble, Tessie purrs
slightly louder say mid to moderate Rumble and Scouttie well she just
moves the furniture (EARTHQUAKE) purrs. When Scout is sitting on our
dresser and I pet her she rumbles loudly enough to make the WHOLE
dresser rumble.

Both my boyz are loud. When I'm on the phone, they always hang
around-- that's another posting-- and Stinky often climbs all over me
while I'm talking-- and the person on the other end can hear him.
Dante is not only loud, but he does it ALL THE TIME. I've never met a
cat who purrs as much as Dante. I don't think I've *ever* touched
him, and found him not purring, from the day he came home. And the
purr was what got me. ;) I took him out of his cage, and he cuddled
right up next to my ear, and
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
It was amazing. I said, "Oooh, I like you!"
He is usually too busy these days to do much cuddling, but that purr
is always whrrrrrrrring away. ;)
