aalucard...
Since I got my terrier last Saturday she has been defecating once a day.
Today she has not defecated at all. I took her out 9 times for 10 minute
walks she urinated about 6 times no defecating.

Judy...
How is your dog acting otherwise? Is she behaving normally? Does she give
any indication of being uncomfortable? Is she still eating and drinking?
Playing?

If she's acting fine otherwise, she is almost certainly fine. Skipping an
occasional day is not a problem. Perhaps she got cleaned out the day
before. Especially if she's getting more canned than dry food, the
frequency will be less because you're feeding more water with canned.

You've only had the dog a week. You really don't know what her pattern is.
And it will be changing anyway as she adjusts into your household routine
and gets more relaxed in her new life.

If she stops eating and drinking, get her to a vet. Otherwise, take a deep
breath, relax and enjoy your new dog.

When I took her to the vets on Tuesday the vet said once a day is fine
for a small 10 pound dog. But 0 times?

If she has not defecated by noon time I will call the vet.

She is only 1.5 years old. I am in a panic.

Although my cat sometimes skips a day but she is 14 years old and on a
kidney diet.

This is my first dog since I was a child and that was 27 years ago. I am
40 now and really this is like having a dog for the first time.

Why do I have a feeling I adopted a sick dog? Although she is eating
well but she doesn't like Iams dry foodl that much only
the Iams can.
