Neo Cana

To my great surprise, I have two (girl) dogs in the office again.

Welcome Neo Cana, pictures to follow when I get some batteries in the
darned camera.

Well, hop to it, missy!

They had two good walks together and Bella is not curling her lip all
the time. Neo is calm, but confused and Bella is confused, but calm.
Not exactly what I envisioned (like more time to get the girls to know
each other) but she's here and so far, so good.

Congratulations on the new addition. I expect they'll settle down before
too long. Just don't give them any treats or food when they're together.

heh. Welcome Neo. Looking forward to hearing nice stories about new

Neo's really cute. She is black and tan, mostly black, with those
adorable tan "eyebrow" marks and a tan muzzle chest and feet. For some
reason, she reminds me of a Sheltie sized Rottie. She's got long hair.
She needs grooming!

And I'm embarassed to say that I have been using the Millan tssst with
the snaping finger and pointing technique and while Bella is used to
it, Neo is not. But she got used to it right away. My former favorite
"ah" just wasn't doing it.

Neo tried licking Bella's muzzle and at first, Bella was having none of
it, but after a few attempts, allowed it. We were distracting both dogs
so they wouldn't focus on each other (Bella).

So the girls are each lying at a human's feet.

And I did give each of them a treat after I knew they could sit (not
too close and not too far).

Both of them need lots of walks and Neo needs to be trained up to house
rules speed.

DH got worried that her humans weren't really looking after her. They
really love her, but they can be terribly careless. It turns out he's
been having nightmares about this - that's why he decided that today
was Neo day.

I can't wait for these girls to be friends because they really are so
darned cute.

HEY! Shouldn't I get to be The One who gives that sage advice when people
bring home new dogs? :)

I'm open to any advice and suggestions. I'm a seriously average pet
owner and it's been a whole year since we had two dogs and two years
since we had three. I've almost forgotten everything.

The last new dog we brought in was a puppy (5-year-old Bella), so that
didn't count!
