We didn't get downstairs to the puppies in time this morning ad their
little pen was a huge mess. We cleaned it out, mom fed them and then
they got more solid food. Solid food makes for some nasty puppy poops.
I think Comet will eat until he explodes.
I now question the intelligence of having the expen on ceramic tile
because I don't think my knees are going to forgive me for this.
The puppies were all revved up this morning. I thought of Janet's curse
(something about greased piglets). They like having more space to play,
they like having more toys to interact with (the lobster is a favorite)
they are beginning to understand that the whiffle ball is fun, and they
enjoy the great outdoors.
My favorite thing is watching them play with each other and I'm
fascinated that they seem to think there's a special forehead button
that initiates play. They bat each other on the "button" regularly.

I'm jealous. I loved everything about having a litter. I could happily
do that every day for the rest of my life, sore knees and all - I did
it on ceramic tile too.
I did cut a dog door and give them run of an inside xpen and an outside
xpen during the day at about this age. It was amazing how fast they
learned to poop outside (I used hay and pitchforked it over the side
daily - a little later on bi-daily , then hourly, etc. ;->)
And not to make you feel inadequate, but take a look at this:

I just watched all the video clips and am completely enchanted, especially
by the first few. I had no idea puppies could learn so much at such a
young age!
There really should have been a warning posted about catching the dreaded
and highly contagious puppy fever, though.

This is what Diddy is challenging me to do. We're a little behind on
the training.
Puppy or adult, these are good training videos.

Yup. I'm keeping them bookmarked. I spent a pleasant hour or
so watching them yesterday.
